It may still be a few more years before the still untitled Wolverine film will hit theaters, but fans are already clamoring to see more of Hugh Jackman as the adamantium-clawed mutant. The X-Men: Days of Future Past actor is also excited about working on the film, and he has just confirmed that there is already a script!
Jackman and his Eddie the Eagle costar Taron Egerton recently spoke to Collider, where the Les Miserables star revealed that Wolverine 3 finally has a script.
"We have a script. A full script," Jackman shared, although he also admitted that it is still in the works.
"To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished-well, it's not finished, but we're getting super close-as you can see by the rate of my facial hair," he said jokingly. "That might give you a good clue that perhaps...yeah, it's sooner rather than later."
It certainly sounds like the story for the Wolverine movie has already been worked out and it's just a matter of adding all the necessary details. However, don't expect Jackman to start filming immediately.
"I don't have a firm date yet," he said, adding that this was something he decided on his own.
"My thing and I've told you and I've told everyone, it's my last one, for me I want it to be perfect, so the moment I know it's perfect, bang, we'll go," Jackman said.
But what will Jackman's last Wolverine film be about? The actor has previously teased that the movie will follow the storyline of Mark Millar's graphic novel Old Man Logan, which has recently been revisited. The comic book features an older Wolverine and fans believe would be the most fitting way for Jackman to finally lay the character to rest.
Wolverine 3 is still scheduled for release on 2017.
