'Penny Dreadful' Season 3 Spoilers: Eva Green Teases First Look at Dr. Jekyll [VIDEOS]

The third season of Penny Dreadful is beginning to look like the show's darkest one, especially with Eva Green's Vanessa being institutionalized and several strange new characters joining the series. Showtime has just released two new teasers for Season 3, which both hint on Josh Hartnett's Ethan giving in to his feral side and offer a quick glimpse at the scary new character Dr. Henry Jekyll.

The Frightened teaser opens with Vanessa saying, "We name things that have frightened us. Satan, evil ... for too long we have been afraid." There is a dark shot of Ethan in an empty alley, which reveals that he has blood on his lips. "Now, I'm not frightened," Vanessa declares as a mob tries to get into the mansion windows. The teaser may be moody, but there is a moment of hope as Vanessa and Ethan are reunited on a staircase. It is also revealed that Victor (Sam Treadaway) is in the company of Dr. Jekyll (Shazad Latif).

There is more of Jekyll in the Touched by Satan teaser where he looks very creepy before knocking on Victor's door. The short trailer also finds Vanessa losing hope. "God has forgotten me. He can't find me. I have been touched by Satan," she says before asking, "Don't you think I'm dangerous?" Probably not as dangerous as Ethan, who orders a woman to restrain him before he transforms but still ends up escaping and attacking a man. The lethal pair of Dorian (Reeve Carney) and Lily (Billie Piper) also star in the teaser, where Victor's latest creation promises a young girl that she will have her revenge.

In addition to Latif, there will be several new actors joining the cast of Penny Dreadful this season. Patti LuPone, who played the Cut-Wife in Season 2, will return as the mysterious Dr. Seward while Hell on Wheels star Wes Studi will portray new character Kaetenay.
