It's no secret that Mark Ruffalo will be in Thor: Ragnarok, where Bruce Banner will be helping the Asgardian god in saving the world from an impending apocalypse. However, the actor has just confirmed that The Hulk will have a major story arc in the film that will be followed through in more movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Ruffalo recently spoke with Yahoo! and confirmed that fans shouldn't hold their breath for another Hulk solo film.
"I'd love to do a Hulk movie, but that's beyond my control," Ruffalo said. "It's controlled by Universal. Marvel doesn't even hold the rights to it. So, it's not on the horizon. And I don't know if it will be."
But that doesn't mean there won't be more of The Hulk in future Marvel films. Ruffalo confirmed that Banner and his huge green alter ego will appear in at least three more Phase 3 movies.
"We've worked a really interesting arc into Thor 3, Avengers 3 and 4 for Banner that I think will -- when it's all added up -- will feel like a Hulk movie, a standalone movie," he said.
We have already reported about the Hulk's possible storyline in Ragnarok, which is believed to touch up on the events that happen in the comic book Planet Hulk.
Ruffalo also admitted that he is a big fan of Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, who will also be working on the screenplay.
"Taika Waititi's coming in and I love him," he declared, adding that Waititi is a welcome addition to MCU.
"That's a surprise and it fits part of this Marvel doing the unexpected, casting the unexpected, and now bringing in the unexpected for writer and director," Ruffalo said. "I'm really interested in where that's going."
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
