With the success of The X-Files Revival, will the Fox Network consider another project and revive Millennium with Season 4. After three seasons, will criminal profiler Frank Black (Lance Henriksen) return just like Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson)?
During the three past seasons of the Millennium TV series, ex-FBI profiler Frank Black (Henriksen) moved to Seattle to consult for a private law enforcement group, the Millennium Group. Using his mental skills of empathy, Frank senses what he knows about the serial killer's motives and sexual history. As the danger found its way towards his home, Frank risked everything to save his wife and daughter, while attempting to stop the Millennium Group from bringing about the apocalypse.
In an interview with Den of Geek, The X-Files showrunner Chris Carter admits the focus has been on the series, but acknowledges, "I can tell you, there is a constant drumbeat to bring back Millennium and I'm just always so taken by that, also that hardcore group of fans out there who would like to see it back."
Carter continues, "I have ideas how it might come back but, it's really, once again, it's a Fox show. They own it. It's really up to them whether or not they would ever want to go down that road."
As we previously mentioned, Millennium continued as a comic book from writer Joe Harris (The X-Files: Season 11) and artist Colin Lorimer (Burning Fields). Frank Black has come out of hiding when the Millennium Group his estranged daughter, Jordan, resurface. We loved each installment and highly recommend reading the series.
In our MStars News interview, writer Joe Harris discusses adapting Frank Black's visions into the comic book medium, "Well it is one of the signature visuals of Millennium. In fact, it's one of the big visual hooks, I think the other being Frank Black's appearance himself. I think Lance Henriksen brought a physicality to that character that is so strong and distinctive. Frank Black is a visual magnet without even doing anything, just his presence."
The trade paperback of Millennium is available from IDW Publishing.
The X-Files revival continues on Fox Mondays at 8pm.
