Kate Middleton, who since marrying Prince William in the spring of 2011 has held the royal title of Duchess of Cambridge, is getting a little more involved in one of her favorite causes through an unlikely medium: editing! Taking on the guest editor position at the UK's Huffington Post, the royal will be raising awareness of children's mental health issues.
The Duchess will be taking on the role of guest editor for a day on February to help gain awareness on the subject of mental illness on children, Middleton's office revealed to the world a few weeks back. For this job, she'll have people from the outlet over to her home in Kensington Palace, where she'll discuss the people who help (and can help) with handling these types of conditions in children.
"The Duchess of Cambridge has made the mental health of young children a key focus of her work in recent years. She is delighted that The Huffington Post will help put a spotlight on this important issue," said Middleton's team at Kensington Palace in an official statement.
For years, Middleton has been working closely with Place2Be, a charity that focuses on providing emotional support, as well as mental health services, for children at schools in the United Kingdom.
According to Hello! Magazine, the date for Middleton's guest editing appearance in the outlet has already been revealed: February 17.
Middleton is already working with the Huff's team to help commission articles on the subject of mental health in children, and for her day of guest editing, the Duchess will be discussing the contents of the articles with the staff.
This interesting initiative is part of the launch of Young Minds Matter, a new campaign focused on publicly discussing this issue and how to take off the stigma surrounding it. To further advance this cause, the Duchess has also recorded a message regarding Children's Mental Health Week, which will be from February 8 until the 14.
