The proof is in the pictures. Notoriously private Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, is finally opening up about what he calls his "bohemian" childhood. The comments follow some adorable pictures of baby Leo with his parents that recently surfaced.
The pictures show Leo and his dad, George DiCaprio, a comic book distributor and artist, and mom, Irmelin Indenbirken, a German-born legal secretary, to whom he bears a striking resemblance!
The actor, an only child, recently opened up about his parents, saying, "[They are] bohemians in every sense of the word. They're the people I trust most in the world."
He also told Parade about his dad's advice: "My dad always told me, 'Go out there, son, and whatever you do, I don't care if you're successful or not, just have an interesting life.'"
At the SAG Foundation 30th anniversary gala, where he was awarded the Actors Inspiration Award, he credited his parents for his success, saying, "Irmelin, George -- I would not be receiving this award and I would not be the actor that I am or be able to do any of the philanthropy that this job has given me the opportunity to have, and I wouldn't be the person I am without the both of you, so thank you."
DiCaprio is a favorite to win Best Actor for his role in The Revenant at the Academy Awards. If he wins, it would be the actor's first Oscar. The awards air live on ABC on Feb. 28.
