'Arrow' Season 4 SPOILERS: Is Manu Bennett's Slade Wilson/Deathstoke In 'Suicide Squad'?

The CW series Arrow has had its share of memorable villains, but fans simply cannot get enough of Slade Wilson. After all, Manu Bennett's Deathstroke effectively took everything away from Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), which included Queen Consolidated, Starling City and his mother Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson). But since baddies like Slade are rarely kept away for long, will Deathstroke return to the show to terrorize the Green Arrow once again? Or is he showing up in a future DC movie?

Marc Guggenheim says you shouldn't hold your breath. The Arrow executive producer recently conducted a Tumbler Q&A, where he addressed an inquiry on a possible comeback for Slade and Walter Steele (Colin Salmon) in the series.

"The character of Slade Wilson is currently tied up in another DC project," Guggenheim revealed. "Walter is more likely."

The revelation immediately gave way to several speculations about Deathstroke's other "DC project." Some fans believe that Slade may actually appear in a movie, possibly with Arrow's previous kills Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot (Michael Rowe) and Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson). If you haven't heard yet, both characters will be in a film called Suicide Squad.

So did Guggenheim just confirm that Deathstroke will be in the David Ayer movie? There have been rumors that Scott Eastwood's yet-unconfirmed Suicide Squad character is actually Slade Wilson, and there was even a possible glimpse at someone with a sword in the film's latest trailer.

The possibility of Deathstroke's appearance in Suicide Squad may be exciting, but it also raises the question as to whether Slade will get killed off from Arrow to make way for the character's cameo in the movie. After all, Deadshot and Waller are already dead in the Arrowverse, possibly in preparation for the release of Suicide Squad. Hopefully, Bennett's Slade will simply be locked up in Lian Yu for the rest of the season and Rila Fukushima's Katana (who will also appear in the movie) can hide somewhere while mourning for her husband Maseo Yamashiro (Karl Yune).

Arrow Season 4 airs on The CW every Wednesday nights. Suicide Squad will premiere on August 6.
