Emily Blunt Cast in 'My Little Pony' Movie as New Mystery Equestria Character!

Popular cartoon My Little Pony is finally coming to the silver screen next year, and the show's voice cast has already signed up to star along with Broadway and television legend, Kristin Chenoweth. Now, another big name has been added to the pony cast over in Equestria: superstar Emily Blunt will be voicing a character!

According to The Wrap, the Golden Globe-winning actress will be joining the film's voice cast in a still-unknown role, though it has been made clear that it was written specifically for the movie.

The Guardian reports that Blunt, who days back revealed she was pregnant with her second child with husband John Krasinski, has a very busy schedule ahead for the year aside from her voice work in the Pony movie. In fact, she has two more animated films on the way, Animal Crackers, scheduled for a 2016 release and Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes, currently in pre-production for a 2018 release.

Blunt also has her share of live-action projects, with two movies coming out this year: The Huntsman: Winter's War with Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and The Girl on a Train.

All of Blunt's live-action projects lined up are currently in post-production, and it doesn't look as though she'll be taking any other roles right afterwards, as she'll probably slow down with her new baby.

Besides Chenoweth, whose role in My Little Pony is also unknown at this point, Blunt will be working alongside Tara Strong as Twilight Sparkle, Ashleigh Ball as Applejack/Rainbow Dash, Shannon Chan-Kent as Pinkie Pie, Tabitha St. Germain as Rarity and Cathy Weseluck as Spike.

The film will be directed by Pony veteran Jayson Thiessen, who will be working from a screenplay by Meghan McCarthy, a writer and producer on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the television show that made the classic pony characters international hits once more.

The film will follow Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity as they leave Equestria to save their home from a dark force, meeting many new friends in the process.
