For the past four seasons, millennials have felt excruciatingly related to Lena Dunham's series Girls, but as the actress/writer/director/producer and known feminist is about to reach 30, fans won't be getting much more of the HBO show. Season 5, which begins this Sunday, is its penultimate -- so it's time to remember where we left Hannah, Marnie, Shosh and Jessa!

The tenth and last episode of Girls' season 4, "Home Birth," was certainly a breath of fresh air when it aired in late May last year. On it, Caroline (Gaby Hoffmann) is ready to have her baby with Laird (Jon Glaser), insisting on a home birth while everyone else tells them things are getting too complicated and painful to just stay home.

After Dunham's character, Hannah Horvath, had been trying to do the grown-up thing for the entirety of the season, she finally stepped up in this episode, surprisingly keeping her cool during this complex childbirth ordeal, unlike Adam (Adam Driver, months before becoming galactic baddie Kylo Ren).

Once the birth actually happens and everybody catches a breath of fresh air, Adam tells Hannah that he's lost without her and impossibly pretentious Mimi-Rose (Gillian Jacobs) was just a phase in his life.

For once, Hannah takes a redeeming, grown-up decision: after being stuck in an unhealthy relationship with Adam for years, she finally decides to step down. Six months later, she's gotten together with Fran (Jake Lacy), a sweet teacher who earlier in the season decided not to date her because of how much she enjoyed drama.

Jessa Johansson (Jemima Kirke), though barely around during the last season, is surprisingly the one who manages Caroline to see reason and go to a hospital to give birth. Her on-point pressure on the new parents makes them decide to (partially) name their daughter after her, as Jessa-Hannah Bluebell Poem will probably be teased for her entire life over her name. Still, the ordeal stirs something up in Jessa, and she decides she wants to become a therapist.

Shoshanna Shapiro (Zosia Mamet), who spent most of the season looking for work after graduating (being insanely arrogant about it on job interviews), is faced with a choice: either her dream job in Tokyo or moving in with her new man, Scott (Jason Ritter). After speaking to Hermie (Colin Quinn), who's surprisingly filled with wise words, Shosh decides to follow her career dreams ahead of her relationship goals.

On her part, Marnie Michaels (Allison Williams), now engaged to decidedly unbalanced and unreliable Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), is away from the childbirth storyline as the two of them have a showcase. When Desi doesn't show, hopelessly-still-in-love-with-Marnie Ray (Alex Karpovsky) encourages her to go on stage alone, and she kills it --- and there might be sparks between them.

Now that you're all caught up with these four 20-something-year-olds, don't forget to watch the season 5 premiere of Girls, tonight on HBO.
