When Heropanti was released in 2014, debutant Tiger Shroff had become the talk of the town for his slick action skills and smooth dance moves. Sajid Nadiadwala, who launched him in tinsel town, signed the young actor again to star in a film opposite Shraddha Kapoor. Apparently, the film's title is similar to one of the Salman Khan's superhit films, and everyone is comparing the newcomer Shroff with Khan.
Titled Baaghi: Rebels In Love, the film is apparently a remake of the Telugu movie Varsham. Currently under production, the film shares part of its title with the 1990 Khan & Nagma-starrer, Baaghi: A Rebel For Love, which gave way to comparisons between the two.
According to a recent media coverage as reported by Bollywood Hungama, the Heropanti star, who is being compared to superstar Khan, has shrugged off all similarities between both movies. He also brushed aside media statements that began to compare him to the Bajrangi Bhaijaan superstar.
Shroff was quoted as saying that he feels nervous when he is being compared to Khan for the coincidental similarity of his movie's name. He confessed that Khan is the biggest superstar of the country today and he is just a newcomer, trying to learn the ropes of acting.
"Salman sir is the biggest superstar of the country at the moment and I am a newcomer. It will be really unfair if you will make such a comparison. I will try not to let my down. I just hope my hard work will pay off," Shroff further added.
He stated that it would not be fair to compare both of them as there is a vast difference between the years of experience both have put in into the industry. At the same time, Shroff also mentioned that like the protagonist, a rebellious character that he is playing on the screen, is in total contrast to his real life. Shroff was quoted by Times of India as saying:
"My dad is very strict.I sometimes try to be Baaghi before my mother, but it's just not me; it's not my personality."
Baaghi: Rebels In Love, directed by Heropanti" helmer Sabbir Khan, is Shroff's second film under Nadiadwala's banner, while Kapoor, who plays the leading lady opposite Shroff, will be seen pulling off some stunts and matching moves with Shroff.
The Salman Khan starrer, Baaghi, narrated the story of a lazy drifter, who, while rescuing a girl from the clutches of a pimp, falls for her and both become rebels when their respective families reject their idea of getting married to each other on social grounds. The film was a commercial hit.
