Putting an end to the speculations surrounding his upcoming projects, filmmaker Rohit Shetty clarified that the shooting for Golmaal 4 and Ram Lakhan remake are likely to start this year. The director confirmed the same during his interaction with the media fraternity on the occasion of the Zee Cine Awards 2016.
The famous director was quoted by Indian Express as responding:
"I have two scripts right now. One is Golmaal 4, that's confirmed. I think people are waiting for me to start it. The other is the Ram Lakhan remake with Karan Johar. Both the films are at the scripting stage right now. We will start working on them after six months."
A lot of rumours were spinning around both the film projects for a long time. Names of actors like Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth Malhotra, Abhishek Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were in the limelight are they were being speculated to be part of these projects.
However, the director denied the reports by saying that the cast of both the films has not been finalised. While Shetty claims to be busy with the scripts, filmmaker Johar has not spoken anything about the remake of 1989 film Ram Lakhan as he is busy shooting for his film project, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Golmaal 4 will hit the screens almost six years after the release of third part of the Golmaal franchise, which came in 2010. The director's last film, Dilwale, didn't manage to impress the audience to a large extent. The film marked the comeback of Khan and Kajol's super hit pairing after their hit film, My Name is Khan.
While humour and action are the essences of Shetty's movies, the cinematography of his films is equally appreciated. For instance, his film Chennai Express highlighted the beauty of southern India which people were not aware of. Singham and Singham Returns explored the action genre. Let's see what new Shetty manages to inculcate in his upcoming projects.
