It's been nearly a year since one of the most popular Game of Thrones characters, Kit Harington's Jon Snow, was seemingly stabbed to death in possibly the most shocking television scene of 2015. Now, as the season 6 premiere approaches, HBO is torturing fans by having the character in every promo, including the newest posters, while everyone wonders whether he's dead or alive.

There's a new batch of Game of Thrones posters, as the HBO show's Twitter released a series of new images that are, at least conceptually, on the same tone as the "Hall of Faces" teaser. As in the widely spoken-about clip, multiple faces from Westeros, both living and dead, show up; obviously, this includes the sleeping face of Ned Stark's bastard son and, in fact, even Sean Bean's character from the first season.

Over the past months, Jon Snow has turned into Shrödinger's character, as depending on whom you ask, he could be either dead or alive. While Jon seemed to bleed to death in the season 5 finale "Mother's Mercy" and GoT cast and crew have said time and again that he's dead, fans continue to hope otherwise.

Interestingly enough, another character that died in the series a while back, Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), also appears in the posters. While in the show Catelyn been dead since the infamous season 3 episode "The Rains of Castamere," in the books she was resurrected by the Brotherhood Without Banners after the Red Wedding.

While the show so far hasn't followed that storyline from the novels, the fact that the Stark matriarch is reappearing might give a clue, though it seems unlikely because every other actually dead stark is on the posters too, including Robb (Richard Madden).

The new campaign featuring dead and alive characters is probably just a way to further the intrigue on whether Jon Snow will revive some way or another.

For now, HBO will just keep on driving fans crazy for the next couple of months, until Game of Thrones returns on April 24.
