WGN America continues with the premiere their new original series, Outsiders. In episode 8, entitled It's Good To Be King, Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) are trying to defend their mountaintop homestead before the outside world takes it away from them.
As the Farrell Clan mourns for the death of Lady Ray Farrell (Phyllis Somerville), Big Foster decides it's time to kick out Asa (Joe Anderson). As Hasil (Kyle Gallner) storms into Sally-Ann's old place of work, G'Winn Farrell (Gillian Alexy) tells Little Foster that something about Lady Ray's death doesn't make sense.
Knowing G'Winn is onto him, Big Foster decides to propose to her and make her his Queen. The Farrells are kind of shocked that G'Winn would accept his proposal. Everyone looks at Little Foster as he laughs out loud to the irony of the messy situation.
Broken-hearted, Little Foster asks G'Winn why she's hurting him. After she lost the baby, Little Foster was there for her. He slowly built her back and never abandoned her. She leaves after Little Foster hits some glass and his hand starts bleeding.
While wandering out into the woods, Asa asks Hasil how things are between him and Sally-Ann. Basil doesn't know how to answer him because she has just up and vanished. After asking for more moonshine, Asa then tells Hasil that Lady Ray is dead. Knowing the way he treated Big Foster, and now that he's king, Hasil has no place to call home anymore.
During the night, Big Foster attempts to put the moves on G'Winn but she's not having any of it. G'Winn tells Big Foster that they will not end up in bed together. Elsewhere, Asa meets with the pawn shop owner and offers him more Farrell moonshine. The only thing Asa wants in return is a gun.
At the town meeting, Reese explains to the workers that it's all the Farrells' fault why they aren't working. The company executive wants Reese to rile them up more and get them drinking. The more they drink, they more everyone wants to kick the Farrells out of the mountain.
Drunk out of his mind, Sally-Ann's brother and other townsfolk end up driving out in the streets. All of a sudden, these drunks spot Hasil outside. Hasil is on the run from the speeding truck as he finds himself cornered.
After Little Foster refuses to bow down to Big Foster, he swears that the clan will know about the murder he committed. If Little Foster squeals, Big Foster will say it was all his plan and he's an accessory. Everyone will blame him too.
Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas J. Wright) wakes up from his drunken haze as his sister screams she lost his kid. Searching for his lost son, Wade thinks the Farrells have him. As he wanders through the woods, Wade finds himself trapped in a cave-in.
Asa suddenly returns to the base, firing his machine gun. G'Winn drops to the ground as Big Foster stands up to Asa. After putting the machine gun down, Asa promises to Big Foster that he can bring 100 more like these.
