Sometimes it's the little things that truly count. Some fans have noticed that Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier has been running around with a backpack in all the Captain America: Civil War trailers and have decided to ask someone who might know why it's so important: Sebastian Stan. Not surprisingly, the actor who plays the American soldier-turned-Hydra assassin had a rather spoiler-y response!
Instagram user @coleisadreamer posted the question asking what is in Bucky's backpack, probably not expecting a major response from the actor. However, Stan replied to the post in a lengthy comment that revealed the unusual contents.
"Dead [sic] Cole, in his backpack there are a dozen notebooks that compose the scattered memories dating back to as far as he can remember which somewhat piece together a scattered life," Stan wrote. "In a similar way to Alzheimer's, he's written things down, for fear of losing his memory again."
Stan continued by explaining that the notebooks are probably the only valuable things to Bucky.
"He was prepared, were something to happen, to walk away with nothing but that backpack, which is why it's the only thing he takes and knowing full well that not everything those pages contain is pretty," he wrote.
But what memories has Bucky probably written down in the notebooks? There is a possibility that they might contain some information about the Winter Soldier's kills, which may include the supposedly accidental death of Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) parents!
Although it is believed that Howard and Maria Stark were killed in a car accident, it has recently been revealed that they were actually assassinated by Hydra. There is an ongoing theory that Tony's parents were murdered by Hydra's star assassin, the Winter Soldier. There are also rumors that one of the major rifts between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony is the latter finding out that Bucky killed his parents.
Will we find out what is written in Bucky's notebooks? The truth will be revealed when Captain America: Civil War premieres on May 6.
