Jon Bernthal's Punisher Featurette Will Make You NEED 'Daredevil' Season 2

The second season of superhero show Daredevil will hit Netflix on Friday, but with every passing trailer and poster the show looks increasingly interesting, particularly whenever Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle makes an appearance.

In a new featurette for the series, the actor talks what it was like to play The Punisher on the small screen -- and his premiere in the role feels too far away even if it's in two days!

In the featurette posted on Netflix's YouTube channel this Wednesday, there's a little glimpse into how Hell's Kitchen has been since the events of the first season. After Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and his own brand of vigilante justice put Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) behind bars, a new door has opened, letting The Punisher inside.

In Hell's Kitchen, a neighborhood partially destroyed in the Battle of New York from 2012's Avengers, things had gotten a little out of control until one masked superhero began cleaning up the streets -- but the one that followed, an anti-hero determined to impart a brand of justice that doesn't steer clear of murder, unlike Daredevil. In all, while the two fight for justice, The Punisher's methods turn him into a vicious killer -- and an incredible foe for Matt Murdock.

"He's not a villain, he's not a superhero, he's trying to make people pay for what they've done," Bernthal says on the clip, between a few snippets of scenes regarding the confrontation of these two great Marvel enemies. "Daredevil's brand of justice is ridiculous to Frank, yet he's such a worthy adversary. As dark as he is, inside there's a man who suffered real loss."

Back in 2004, barely a year after the infamous Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck as Matt Murdock, there was also an attempt to bring The Punisher to life in the big screen, in a film starring Thomas Jane as Frank Castle. The movie wasn't exactly a big success and the character was ultimately shelved, much like it happened to Daredevil as well as Hulk, which would later become the second Phase 1 film of the MCU.

In any case, hold on tight: the Daredevil Season 2 premiere is just around the corner, on Friday, March 18!
