'The Revenant' Digital HD: Leonardo DiCaprio, Alejandro G. Iñárritu DVD Release Date

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment continues to celebrates its Oscars win with the DVD and Blu-Ray of The Revenant. Before its official release date, check out the critically acclaimed film from Alejandro G. Iñárritu and Leonardo DiCaprio arrives on Digital HD.

As we previously mentioned, The Revenant follows the story of legendary explorer Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) as he endures his tumultuous quest for survival and justice. After a brutal bear attack leaves him incapacitated, Glass is left for dead by a treacherous and greedy member of his hunting team, John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Against extraordinary odds as his thirst for vengeance grows stronger, Glass has to endure a relentless winter as he grunts and crawl his way through uncharted terrain.

According to High-Def Digest, the The Blu-ray/Digital HD combo pack will feature 1080p video and a DTS-HD MA 7.1 soundtrack. Supplements to the special features will include: "A World Unseen" - A Documentary of The Revenant.

As Forbes predicts, The Revenant is destined to conquer China, just as survival film did with North America. On March 18th, China will present the award-winning film in more than 11,000 screens. And then on Sunday, March 20, The Wolf of Wall Street himself will make an appearance in person in China for promotion of the film. DiCaprio has visited China before, most notably to meet with renowned environmental activist Ma Jun about the discussion of a climate change documentary.

The Revenant arrives on Digital HD March 22, just in time to watch during Easter Weekend. Then the Academy award winning film arrives in stores everywhere on Blu-ray and DVD April 19.
