Could Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton/Hawkeye Star in His Own Netflix TV Series?

The second season of Daredevil has proven that Netflix is truly capable of balancing the dramatic stories of Marvel characters and jaw-dropping action sequences that have worked so well for the show's first season as well as Marvel's Jessica Jones. But is it possible that someone like Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, could eventually get his own Marvel Netflix series?

This was one of the questions that was asked of Renner when he attended the Silicon Valley Comic Con, and the Captain America: Civil War star immediately responded that he would be interested if Clint's story would be made into a Netflix show.

"I think that's actually a really great model, if there's ever a way to explore the character, maybe it's in that world. These are things that are really not in my control, but I'd be open to it," Renner said, adding that Hawkeye's development in Avengers: Age of Ultron was something that he had fun working on.

"I've really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you're doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model," he said.

However, Renner also pointed out that he has no control over whether a Hawkeye Netflix series will actually happen.

"I'd be open to it," he said. "Not up to me, though."

Although there is no word yet on whether Renner's character will eventually get his own show, Netflix appears to be going full speed ahead with the other Marvel series.

Daredevil Season 2 will be followed by Luke Cage, which is expected to air later in the year. Jessica Jones has just been confirmed for a second season while Game of Thrones star Finn Jones has officially been cast as Danny Rand in Iron Fist. The four Marvel heroes will then come together in one major show called The Defenders.
