BANSHEE: Ivana Milicevic Details Season 4, Carrie's Journey & More [EXCLUSIVE Q&A]

Towards the end of my phone conversation with Ivana Milicevic for her role in the Cinemax series Banshee, she asked for my Twitter handle and added me. Fans of the show know very well that the actress is very active on the social media platform, and live tweets episodes along with the fans. Tonight, season four of the hit action series premieres at 10pm ET, starting the final run of episodes. With the series coming to a close, Milicevic spoke to us about what to expect in 2016, her character Carrie Hopewell's journey after last year, and much more.

The action-packed finale of season three could be a hard act to follow, but it looks like we're in for an exciting conclusion to Banshee. Carrie is dealing with the death of her estranged husband, Gordon, and has new obstacles coming her way this season.

Does Carrie change her name back to Anastasia after the events of season three?

People always ask me in interviews, "Are you Carrie or are you Ana?" I think my answer is always, "I am the name that my kids know me by." So, to herself, she's Carrie with a bubbling Ana underneath all the time.

Do you think that Carrie would've lived a normal life if "Lucas" never came to Banshee?

Yes, I think so. The problem is that her father never stopped ... The problem is that Lucas coming into town is like the first drop of alcohol for the alcoholic. Once she tasted that, it was on from that moment. The truth is that, she wouldn't have been safe anyway because she wasn't protecting herself against Lucas coming to town - that whole time that she was training was because she really believed that, at some point, her father was going to find her.

I do think that Lucas coming to town expedited that because she got sloppier and made choices based on passion and was disoriented. She didn't expect that to happen, even though she might've hoped. I do believe that she always hoped that she would see Lucas again - or the man you know as Lucas.

Is a "Happy Ending" possible for Carrie?

What I'm thinking about right now when you ask that question is, "What would even make her happy?" So let's just say that there's this perfect world where her kids are doing great in school, she's living with her kids, and being a great mother, right? Gordon is still gone, which she will be happy about forever. She's still in love with Lucas and whether she decides to be with him or not, that's not good for the kids.

I can't imagine what would be the scenario ... I don't know, maybe she should take the kids and move to Europe or something. Or maybe she should take the kids and move to the Ukraine and get the whole mob thing going again!

What do you hope fans of Banshee take away from the final season once it all ends?

I hope that we just always hold a special place in their hearts. Our show was doing very different things that I think other shows are, not copying, but we did some things that maybe other shows were inspired to do in their own worlds, in terms of how we shot fight scenes and how deeply emotional our stuff was. I mean, we got things from other shows too, I'm not saying we're God's answer to television or anything ... I hope that they just had enjoyed themselves and appreciated what we enjoyed making for them.

In terms of closure, yeah I think that maybe after it's all done they're secretly like "Thanks God ... I like breathing and hate holding my breath!" So maybe they need a little bit of an exhale after four years of this crazy ride.
