Just a few weeks after it has been revealed that Ben Affleck has already worked on a script for a possible Batman solo film, Clerks director Kevin Smith has once again confirmed that the Gone Girl star collaborated with Geoff Johns on the screenplay. In addition to that, he has shared the creative process on how Affleck and Johns wrote the Batman script!
In a recent episode of his Fat Man on Batman Podcast, the Mallrats helmer spoke about Affleck's future projects, which includes the collaboration with Johns.
"He's been working on a solo script with Geoff Johns as well," Smith confirmed before sharing his previous interaction with the DC Entertainment CCO.
"Last conversation I had with Geoff Johns I was like, 'Are you working on it?'" he said, revealing that Johns had confessed to working with Affleck on the Batman script.
"He said 'Yeah,'" Smith stated.
Affleck has previously admitted to working with Johns although he did not specify on which particular project.
In addition to that, Johns had also explained the creative process of the collaboration with the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star.
"I said, 'What's it like man, how do you co-write with someone?'" Smith continued. "He's going, 'We just break it up, he takes halves and I take halves and then we write, and then we switch material, and then he goes over mine and I go over his.'"
Needless to say, the Yoga Hosers director is delighted with the way Johns and Affleck came up with the Batman script.
"That sounds so f--ing fun man," Smith said.
It certainly sounds like Affleck and Johns' Batman script could be made into an actual movie quite soon. Warner Bros. has recently announced that there will be two new untitled films added to the current DC Extended Universe lineup, and fans have speculated that one of these flicks could be a Batman standalone movie.
