The awaited sequel of 2014's spy film, Kingsman: The Secret Service is finally heading towards production. In the recent news, it has been revealed that Sir Elton John will be seen in Kingsman: The Golden Circle in a mysterious role.

Kingsman: The Secret Service was released in 2014 and it featured Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong and Michael Caine. The film was made against a budget of $81million dollars and it earned a whopping $414.4 million dollars from the worldwide collection. After the box-office success, it was speculated that 20th Century Fox would surely think of making a sequel.

In an exclusive interview with Joblo, director Matthew Vaughn announced that the team is planning for Firth and Strong to reprise their roles in the second part. And on April 7, 2016, Egerton revealed the first poster of the film which featured a tagline borrowed from Mark Twain: "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

In Kingsman 2, Julianne Moore will be seen playing the role of an antagonist and Academy award winning actress, Halle Berry, is set to play the role of the head of the Statesman. Now reports suggest that 20th Century Fox has managed to get John to come on board.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that John is in talks to join The Golden Circle. Although there is no official confirmation on his role or what character he will be playing, we assume that he can be seen playing himself, as it has been noted that the first film indeed had a lot of celebrity cameos in it.

John's addition in The Golden Circle is an interesting twist on the amazing casting of this project. Earlier to this, he gave use of his voice in The Simpsons (playing himself) and also he became the narrator in The Road to El Dorado.

The film is slated for a U.S. release date of June 16, 2017.
