5 Reasons Why Kevin Hart Should Rethink Totally Leaving Stand-Up To Make Movies

Kevin Hart may be done adjusting the microphone stand to the low position. The 36-year-old comic claims he may be done performing stand-up comedy. The Wedding Ringer star made the announcement this week while attending CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Variety, the comedian stated "I don't know if I'm ever going to go out and do it again."  While on his recent Kevin Hart: What Now our the comic performed 156 shows in 112 cities, across 13 countries and 5 continents.  He later commented "My last f*cking tour."

In reality, What Now? combines live action with concert film footage. It was recently screened at an exhibition trade show featuring Hart as a James Bond type character playing poker with Don Cheadle. He also does a parody of Denzel Washington from The Equalizer where he plays a pint sized hero who attacks Russian gangsters with a corkscrew. 

Hart's show at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field officially made him the first comic to sell out an NFL stadium.  "I believe that laughter heals all wounds." said Hart before adding "It's a goal of mine to make people understand the power of laughter...I'm that person that you can laugh at." 

The comic also has his sights set on following in the footsteps of Chris Rock and hosting the Oscars.  "I think in time it will come," he told E! News. "I think when it comes, it will be right. I'm definitely not turning my nose up to the opportunity."

Hart's success with the film Get Hard as well as Ride Along and its sequel have obviously influenced his potential retirement from stand-up.  He is currently set to star in several other movies including the animated features Captain Underpants and The Secret Life of Pets.  He will also star opposite his fellow MTV Movie Award co-host Dwayne Johnson in the soon to be released buddy-cop comedy Central Intelligence. 

Hart's been a highly successful comic and has recently starred in some very popular comedy films.
