‘Mike & Molly’ Season 6 Spoilers: What to Expect From the Finale Episode?

CBS's Mike & Molly starring Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy in the titular role is going to have its finale episode on May 16, 2016.

Mike & Molly first premiered on Sept. 20, 2010 and is a comedy sitcom that follows a working class Chicago couple who find love at a Overeaters meeting. Officer Mike Biggs is a good-hearted cop who wants to lose his weight meet Molly Flynn, a fourth-grade teacher with a healthy sense of humour and after few meets, finds an inclination towards each other.

The synopsis of last two episodes of Season six titled, Curse of the Bambino and I See Love hints of closure. IBT reported that in the second last episode of the final season, Carl (played by Reno Wilson) will convince his partner Mike to go along with him to meet his psychic and on the other hand, we will see how Mike's mother Peggy will take Molly to church "pray for something they've all been waiting for.'

In the second-half of the episode, we get to see the impromptu gathering of Mike, Molly and their family to talk about their life and all the events that brought all of them to this point.

The series pilot was directed by James Burrows, who is famous for directing many episodes of Friends. With five years of successful runs, the comedy show is coming to an end in the next month. During the Television Critics Association Press tour in California, CBS president Glenn Geller announced that Mike & Molly has been cancelled by CBS. Geller was quoted by Variety as saying:

"Mike and Molly, listen, these decisions are really challenging and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chuck [Lorre], Al Higgins, Melissa, Billy -- the whole cast and crew. But I can confirm that this will be the last season of Mike and Molly."

In Dec. 2015, Rondy Reed, who plays Peggy on the show confirmed the news via her official Facebook account in which she stated that the the season sixth has been shortened for only 13 episodes.

Even Gardell took to his Twitter handle to share the news and thanks the fans for all the wonderful six years.

The last episode of Mike & Molly season six will go live on Monday May 16, 2016.
