Gotham S02E18: Pinewood Robin Lord Taylor, Ben McKenzie Premiere Recap!

Fox continues Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, with Wrath of the Villains. In episode 18, Pinewood, can Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) handle Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong)?

Jim takes out his gun and points the barrel at  Barbara (Erin Richards). She came out of the coma, waking up from a nightmare. Barbara says she is sane, but he doesn't believe her. After kicking her out, Barbara stumbles upon Harvey (Donal Logue).

In the caves, Bruce (David Mazouz) and Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) finds a name, Karen Jennings, in the computer. Alfred (Sean Pertwee) tries to stop Bruce but the boy is too stubborn to listen. 

In search of The Lady, Jim is beating suspects around Gotham to get answers. As his lab experiments continues, Strange gets a warning that someone has been looking into Karen Jennings. 

At an abandoned cabin, Bruce picks the lock and Alfred takes out his gun. Bruce meets Karen, who has a dinosaur claw for a hand. She warns Bruce that his father died doing the right thing. At the Artemis nightclub, Barbara saves Jim from getting kicked around by the female bouncer. 

Karen reveals that Thomas Wayne discovered Pinewood Farms has started up again. After being sent to Blackgate, Karen was experimented on and turned into a monster. Barbara then tells The Lady she wants in the assassination business and can offer someone she wants. Barbara then holds a knife close to Jim's neck and holds him hostage. 

While Jim is tied up, The Lady reveals she doesn't have any idea who wanted the Waynes dead, The Philosopher hired her. Barbara then electrocutes The Lady and Bouncer.  Alfred, Bruce and Karen show up at Pinewood Farms, where the hit-men are alerted. 

As the trio are being chased, Karen claws one of the assassins with her claw and Alfred shoots down the other. The police arrive and arrest the three of them. Jim isn't too happy with Barbara even though they have a name. Why does she care what he thinks? Barbara remembers Jim trying to save her; he saw her.

Jim cannot forgive her for trying to kill Lee though. After getting a call from Bruce, Jim leaves Barbara alone in the streets. Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis) releases Bruce and Alfred, but Karen is headed back to Blackgate. Jim mentions Matches Malone was hired by The Philosopher. 

Knowing Karen has been arrested, Strange orders for Mister Freeze (Nathan Darrow) to intervene. While Jim and Alfred steal the prison bus, Bruce frees Karen from her chains. Karen reveals Thomas started Pinewood but the man in charge took advantage of him. 

Alfred then crashes the prison bus on the ice slick. Jim and Alfred shoot down Mr. Freeze. Karen hugs Bruce before she sacrifices herself and lets Mister Freeze kill her. Bruce screams as Mr. Freeze throws an ice bomb and walks away. 

Barbara has returned back to Tigress (Jessica Lucas). Bruce blames himself for Karen's death but Alfred reminds him there will be others. Fox hands Bruce a photo, the Philosopher's name belonged to Strange, a friend. 

The alarms sound off as Theo Galavan (James Frain) has awaken from the dead.
