CBS Home Entertainment is bringing longtime fans The Beverly Hillbillies: Official First Season onto DVD. Before its official release date, check out this intro clip from the hilarious comedy starring Elly May Clampett (Donna Douglas) and Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett).
The first season introduced audiences to the backwoods, where Clampett clan live. When the Clampett clan strike it rich, they decide to load up their truck, and move on out to Beverly Hills. City folk now have something experience from the down-home charm of Jed (Ebsen), Granny (Irene Ryan), Elly May (Douglas), and Jethro (Max Baer Jr.). The Clampetts have to adjust to a new life of fabulous wealth and everything that comes with it.
According to TV Shows on DVD, fans have been asking for CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution to go back to the first season. Television enthusiasts are anxious to have a "real" release of their favorite show. If all things go well with the first season, CBS/Paramount will continue with the official releases of the remaining five seasons of the classic comic.
In an interview with TV Guide, Baer explains when it means to him when someone calls him by his character name, "It's a compliment if someone comes up to me and thinks I still look anything like I did 30 years ago. The thing I can't take is when someone comes up to me and says, "I thought you were dead!" That doesn't fly well with me."

In an interview with Pop Culture Addict, Douglas reveals why she thinks the show has endured with new generations of fans, "It had wonderful values. It showed respect to parents, and people, and we loved animals. In other words, we took care and respected life with whatever we were doing. It would go across the board, and speak to everyone.
The Beverly Hillbillies: Official First Season arrives on DVD April 26.
