Over five decades after Julie Andrews charmed the world for the first time by playing a sweet and serious magical nanny in Mary Poppins, Disney's preparing a sequel to the classic starring Emily Blunt -- and the project just added the hottest name in Broadway to its cast. Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of smash Hamilton, will be playing a Dick Van Dyke-esque character!

According to The Wrap, multi-talented Miranda will be joining Blunt in the new Mary Poppins, which Disney has already stated won't be a remake of the original classic but rather a sequel. The upcoming film, also a musical, will be adapted from other books from the series by P.L. Travers.

Broadway.com reports that, so far, other people involved in the project include director Rob Marshall (the man behind Chicago and most recently Blunt's previous Disney musical, Into the Woods), with Hairspray's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman composing the score and original songs.

In other words, unfortunately Miranda won't be in the creative process behind the songs. But the fact that he's around probably means his character will have more of a hip-hop approach. And with a little bit of luck, he'll be rapping with Blunt.

Still, this isn't the first time the Hamilton and In the Heights creator has collaborated with Disney. He also wrote songs for Moana, the upcoming princess animated film based on Hawaiian mythology. The film is set to premiere later this year, the second 2016 film released by Disney Animated Studios, after hit Zootopia.

Miranda has been riding a wave of tremendous success since Hamilton premiere on Broadway, and in the past few months, he's earned the Pulitzer for Best Drama, the Grammy and the McArthur "genius" grant. In the past, he's also won Tony Awards and an Emmy.

In all, Miranda only just an Oscar to become an EGOT, winning an award from each of the major entertainment industries -- and he's only 36!
