Dr. Bruce Banner aka Hulk is one of most loved Marvel character of all time. In the earlier two films, Hulk and The Incredible Hulk, Edward Norton played the titular role, but in Avengers, he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo. And ever since then, fans are eagerly waiting to see Ruffalo in Hulk 3, but odds are against it.
According to Marvel's producer, Kevin Feige's recent statement, Hulk 3 will not be happening any time soon. There is no mention of a standalone Hulk film in Marvel's Phase 3 lineup of films. In a recent interview, when it was asked about the possibility of Hulk 3, Feige cited that the contractual factors are against it. He was quoted by Deadline as saying:
"Disney and Universal would need to come to an agreement to allow Marvel to do a standalone Hulk film for Disney."
One would not be totally incorrect to state that Ruffalo's portrayal of Hulk is far way better than Norton's. Even Feige thinks in the same direction...
"It's just a great pleasure to have him in The Avengers films and as you know his next appearance will be in Thor: Ragnarok, which is a whole other type of fun Hulk adventure for him that we can't wait to get started on."
In an interview with Yahoo, the 48-year-old Ruffalo stated that he wants to do a sole movie on Hulk but the he is not in the authority to decide on anything as the sole rights stay with Universal Pictures.
"We've worked a really interesting arc into Thor 3, Avengers 3 and 4 for Banner that I think will - when it's all added up - will feel like a Hulk movie, a standalone movie," he further added.
Although, if you are craving the ability to see Hulk smashing buildings and kicking some villains, then you don't need to worry. Ruffalo will soon be seen portraying the his character in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok and the upcoming films in the Avengers series.
