The Flash Season 2 SPOILERS: Twitter Reacts Candice Patton/Iris West-Allen Finale Twist!

The CW Network aired the Season 2 finale of The Flash. After his confrontation with super-villain Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), Twitter had lots to say about the shocking twist between Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the future Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton).

In our previous recap, Zoom unleashed his army of evil metahumans upon Central City. Even with the return of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), the Flash couldn't shake off the shock of seeing his dead friend, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), as Black Siren. With his team by his side, the Flash sent a pulse that struck down every Earth-2 metahuman. Barry couldn't save his own father as Zoom murdered Henry Allen right in front of him.

In our recent recap, after his father's funeral, Barry was breathed by his friends as he was thrown in a prison cell to keep him from killing Zoom. With his father held prisoner by Zoom, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) helped Barry escape to race against his enemy. The Flash saved Earth-2 after defeating Zoom, who was taken away by the Time Wraiths. Barry was in shock when he saw his father's doppelgänger, the real Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp).

After kissing the love of his life, Barry left Iris and ran to the past. After saving his mother from death, Barry erased their timeline together.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Patton teases what she would like to see next, "I would love to see Iris do what she does best in helping Team Flash, which is working at her job at Picture News, working on stories and using her investigative skills to help out the S.T.A.R. Labs team It's such a huge part of the comics that we haven't really touched on yet, this reporter dynamic that's kind of the Superman-Lois Lane thing. It's such a cool aspect that I'd love to see more of."
