The CW Network has plans underway for Season 5 of Arrow. After the fight against Damien Dhark (Neal McDonough), will Oliver Queen aka The Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards)'s Olicity relationship meet Black Siren (Katie Cassidy)?
In our finale recap, Felicity worked nonstop with Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) to stop the nuclear bombs from launching. With the city in chaos, Oliver gave a rousing speech that stopped the riots and kept the frightened crowd at bay. With the nuclear disaster averted, the crowd fought with the Green Arrow against Dhark. Seeking revenge for Laurel's murder, The Green Arrow had no choice but to end Damien's life.
In the aftermath of Dhark's death, Thea (Willa Holland) has given up the vigilante life as Diggle (David Ramsey) re-enlisted into the army. There is no more Team Arrow except for Felicity. Now as the Mayor of Star City, can Oliver still be the Green Arrow and keep the government in check at the same time?
In an interview with MCM Comic Con in London, as transcribed by Cinema Blend, Holland discusses the most painful part of the fourth season, "For the whole Katie Cassidy situation, that was one of the most difficult things that any of us have ever had to film. Not that any of the deaths have ever been easy. We lost Tommy after Season 1; we lost Moira after Season 2. This was four years in. So we were all so close at this point. To the point that more than ever this time it felt like losing a limb."
According to TV Line, the Legion actress adds that CW's DCTV universe is able to find ways to bring back characters, whether it be resurrection or flashbacks. The last time fans saw Cassidy was on The Flash as Earth-Two's Black Siren. Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) wondered what would happen if Black Siren escaped and Team Arrow saw her?
Holland mentions, "It's not like she's gone."
Season 5 of Arrow continues on the CW.
