LG is definitely trying to set up its own forte in the market, just like Apple did with their iPhones and Samsung with the Galaxy S series. This move might seem a little bit belated for LG since its prime competitors, Samsung and Apple, took off many years ago. But the company is optimistic that it will eventually pay off.

Ever since the launch of their LG G series, the company has tried to maintain some bit of consistency. Also, it seems that their steadiness with this series has started bearing some notable fruits.

The LG G4 became a hit in 2015 and people wouldn't resist the leathery feel on the phone's veneer. The company, thus, progressed to release the all-metallic G5 this year and it's also doing well.

For the entire 2016, the G5 has lured many customers into buying it and the company is hopeful that these sales will project after they release the G6. Earlier this year, during the Mobile World Congress, LG announced that the G5 will be their flagship model for the year.

It's therefore likely that the G6 will be the company's cherry at the top of the cake next year. According to TechRadar, the LG G6 will most probably be released in April 2017 just like its predecessors, the LG G5 and LG G4.

Techvicity has forecast the possible upgrades in the new LG G6 next year. Of course, something will be done on the design of the G6 as compared to the G5. The site argues that the phone will not have the bulging camera design at the back as it wasn't as pleasing in the G5.

The inbuilt speakers might be fixed on the edges just like in other competitor models. Remember, on the G5, the speakers were located at the bottom edge alone and they sounded a bit in adequate.

The display of the G6 will be immense, too. It's a 5.6 inch display and guess what, it might feature LG's all new 4K resolution. If this happens, then users can bet that the phone will be among the very first smartphones in this class to feature 4K resolution.

It will have a resolution of 4096 by 2160 pixels. The processor will be a standard quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor with clock speeds of up to 2.15 GHz. If all goes as planned, it will run on Google's latest Android version, Android 7.0 N.

The cameras will also receive some upgrades from the G5 since the primary camera will be a 16 MP camera (but can be raised to 21 MP). The rear camera will be able to record 2160 pixel videos at an astounding 30 fps. For now, fans should just wait and hope that LG G6 won't disappoint.
