Jurassic World was a successful predecessor of the classic Jurassic Park movies. Showing a world that didn't learn from their past mistakes, a theme park was created with experimentations for more powerful dinosaurs. The story itself really did bring up the issue on genetic modifications and how it could get wrong.
The upcoming sequel, however, wishes to press on a different issue this time. As fans take a step back and remember Jurassic World, there were antagonists who plan to use some of the dinosaurs as weapons. The sequel plans to expand on that more.
According to IGN, director Colin Trevorrow mentions that he will use the concept of dinosaurs and how they're treated as an analogy to how people treat animals today. The topics Trevorrow does want to cover are, abuse, medical experimentations, pets, captive animals in the zoo and using animals as military weapons.
According to Screen Rant, the former Jurassic World also uncovered present day issues. Jurassic World was able to create parallels towards capitalism. As it was discussed, this seems to be the perfect bridge on what Jurassic World 2 is yet to uncover.
Screen Rant also mentioned that J.A. Bayonne will be directing the sequel, however, Colin Trevorrow will still be co-writing for this film. So far, this film will have the biggest budget compared to all the last films. They have yet to start filming, but the concept of it so far sounds very promising.
It is still hopeful. Despite of the high budget, hopefully it won't be over done and wont ruin the simple concept it's built to be. Hopefully it focuses on the story more than showing just the sheer beauty of dinosaurs. One thing is for sure, fans will always love some dinosaurs and dinosaurs never go out in style in Jurassic World 2.
