The stage is set and the topics ready for the third and final 2016 US presidential debate to be held at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Republican Party nominee Donald Trump and Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton will square off once again tackling latest issues affecting the US and the world. The third debate will be moderated by Fox News anchor Chris Wallace.
Topics for the third debate were announced by Wallace on Wednesday, October 12. Included are topics about immigration, the Supreme Court and all about the president's fitness to work as the highest official in the land. It was also announced by the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates that Wallace himself chose the topics for the final debate.
US Magazine reported that the final presidential debate will not just conclude all three debates but will also feature other previous moderators. Lester Holt, who moderated the first debate will be asking questions regarding "Achieving Prosperity," "America's Direction" and "Securing America." Debate number 3 will be shown on all major networks and will also be available online via live streaming for 90 minutes non-stop.
Time pointed out that these topics may subject to change according to late-breaking news. Other topics that could be included are economy, debt and entitlements and foreign hot spots; each of the topics will be provided with a 15-minute segment.
The second town hall-like presidential debate was more heated and more confrontational than the first one. Both Clinton and Trump strayed away from the given topics which were mostly asked by members of the audience and from social media.
Footage of Donald Trump's lewd comments on women was shown, while the New York real estate mogul defended himself calling all these as "locker room talk." Meanwhile, Clinton received threats from Trump saying that she could face imprisonment when he wins. He even quipped she'll "be in jail" as he walked at the back of the Democratic candidate as she answered questions.
Towards the end of the debate, a member of the audience asked the two to name one positive thing that they respect in one another. Clinton remarked that Trump's children, who were "able and devoted" says a lot about their father.
Donald Trump answered that he admired Hillary's perseverance, "She doesn't quit. She doesn't give up. I respect that."
The third US presidential debate will be on October 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
