Harrison Ford's injury lead the Star Wars Film a fine of £1.6m

Harrison Ford had an injury back at June 2014 when he was taking his role as Han Solo from the movie 'Star Wars the Force Awakens'. This took place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. The injury was caused by a metal door that was part of the set of the Millennium Falcon. 

According to BBC, Foodles Production (UK) Ltd, which is owned by Disney, was pleaded guilty within this year. These charges were brought by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Foodles fully regretted the what happened and mentioned that it was a very unfortunate accident that took place on-set. 

According to Sky News, he was knocked over that caused him to be trapped by the door. It was heavy that it was said to be capable of killing one or two people. The court did mention that the force of the door was something like to a weight of a car. Foodles Production (UK) Ltd was fined £1.6m at the Aylesbury Crown Court last Wednesday. 

Sky News mentioned that the accident took place during their second dress rehearsal. Ford did not know that the set was live. He expected the door to stay open since that's what happened during the former dress rehearsals. The door was supposed to be controlled by the special effect operator. The door came down near his face and pushed his pelvis towards the ground. 

The reflexes of the staff hit the emergency stop button. However it wasn't enough to stop the sheer amount of force that the door delivered to Ford. Ford was taken to a hospital in Oxford via a helicopter. The surgery for the 71 year old needed screws for the fractured tibia and fibula bones. 

Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca, mentioned that he was very much aware that the doors will close. He mentioned that this was an innocent mate made by bona fide professionals.
