In "The Walking Dead" season 2 premiere, the zombie apocalypse series from AMC started with emotionally-charged scenes highlighted by Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, beating to death two important characters in the show. 'The Day Will Come When You Won't Be' was full of brutality. Abraham Ford, played by Michael Cudlitz and Glenn Rhee, played by Steven Yeun, were slain by Negan using his weapon of choice: a bat wrapped with a barbed wire. However, there will be a little less gore and bloodshed on the next episode 'The Well' but it's a guarantee that it won't disappoint fans and followers of the show.
NPR confirmed that the execution of Abraham and Glenn showed that the series has not lost their brutal charm. Compared to Robert Kirkman's stone-cold "The Walking Dead" novel, the series included some emotion when it comes to character deaths. An evidence of this was Carl killing his dad Rick's best friend Shaw. This was done early in Kirkman's story but this was included at the end of season two in the series.
Meanwhile, Screen Rant mentioned vivid details about 'The Well.' A clip was released after episode 1 showing The Kingdom, a small thriving community under the rule of a man, his dreadlocks and a tiger. The Kingdom will soon become the temporary home of Morgan and Carol.
The clip showed Morgan explaining to Carol the community. Still recovering and sitting in a wheelchair, Carol listens to Morgan and sees people in The Kingdom working. Morgan seems to be giving Carol crucial information but in small, easy to swallow details. Unknown to the two, their friends are being killed by Negan somewhere away from The Kingdom.
As a fitting tribute to the show's most brutal episode; producers of "The Walking Dead" met Sunday at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This event was for an expanded live edition of the series. The crowd gathered quietly and even in an awkward manner as the series' cast and producers tried to cheer up the crowd after hearing the fate of the two beloved cast. To make matters worse, rain began to pour, drenching everyone even the cast and crew.
Kirkman also mentioned that fans and followers of "The Walking Dead" should cheer up because they are just getting started. Supporting his message was a confirmation from AMC that the series will be getting a season 8.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 episode 8 'The Well' will air next Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
