Michael Douglas revealed that Val Kilmer is battling throat cancer. He mentioned this while he was discussing his film "The Ghost in the Darkness" in 1996 where he and Kilmer worked together. Douglas was a guest in a recent Q&A in London, Sunday.

Douglas commented that Kilmer has been diagnosed with throat cancer which was exactly his ordeal in 2010. The actor added that although he had good prognosis, it seems that things don't look too good for Val. He said that this may be the reason why people don't hear from the actor recently.

According to Herald Sun, rumors about Val Kilmer's condition started in 2015 when he was spotted with a tracheotomy tube attached to a breathing machine in his neck.  However, the "Batman Forever" actor denied this on social media. Kilmer said that he underwent a medical procedure that left his face swelling.

Meanwhile, Douglas was open to revealing his condition in 2010. He said that he was suffering from throat cancer due to HPV or human papilloma virus. Douglas recalled that he was advised by his physician to keep his diagnosis a secret. He also remembered how he battled the illness through radiation and chemo that lasted for weeks.

E! News reported that Val commented on his condition on his official Facebook page in October 2016. He thanked people who were concerned about his condition and denied the rumors saying that he was unwell and was in the hospital. He ended his post saying that he does not have any tumor or infection and was supported by experts at UCLA.

On the other hand, Michael Douglas feels very happy that he has survived cancer. He spoke to a news magazine about his condition and how he now has a new outlook in life. He described surviving cancer as a rebirth; he felt like a child.

Finally, he said that he now sees his priorities differently and has a better appreciation of his marriage and family.
