Telltale Games is going to create a game based off of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" but it is not known if it will be a standalone title or have numerous episodes. Telltale Games is an independent gaming developer based in the US and is known for gaming titles that are based off of popular shows including "The Walking Dead," "Batman," "Game of Thrones" and more. The company is known for episodic gaming and releasing episodes in a specific time frame.
Marvel and Telltale Games Partnership Not a Secret
According to Polygon, Marvel and Telltale Games partnered in 2015 to collaborate on a game based off of the comic book giant. The game was set to be released on 2017 but it was not announced or known at that time from which Marvel franchise the company they will be basing off their new game.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" Videogame Leaked by Voice Acting Union Strike
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" videogame project by Marvel and Telltale Games was recently leaked by an ongoing strike by a voice acting union SAG-AFTRA. The organization named the game which is referred to as "Blue Harvest" to be one of those affected by the strike.
The production of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" videogame is apparently ongoing, Comic Book Movie reports. There has been no official announcement from involved parties about the game and whether an unveiling will happen at next month's The Game Awards. Eurogamer adds that Telltale Games usually make an announcement or release trailers of the game during the event.
Furthermore, the likelihood of Telltale Games unveiling"Guardians of the Galaxy" videogame increases as a movie sequel entitled "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled to be released in May.
