Nvidia fans are seemingly excited as the supposed launching of GTX 1080 during the CES 2017 is just here. The new GPU chipset will outperform its siblings with its higher base and boost clock speed it will also overtake the performance of its competitors from AMD.
Nvidia's release of next generation of GPU architecture is far away. But the most awaited NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti is expected to be the go to 4K GPU after it's launching for this year.
The upcoming GPU will lower the price point of the currently GP102-based GTX Titan X because of the decrease in CUDA cores from 3584 to 3328, repots PC Games.
Just like Titan X, NVIDIA's upcoming graphics card is also being based on GP102, as noted by WCCFTech.com. But while GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is considered to be a side-shoot of NVIDIA's top two graphics cards, the latest graphics card is expected to have a better balance when it comes to using its full potential.
This is the reason why many tech analysts choosing their words when comparing GeForce GTX 1080 with AMD's upcoming GPU architecture, Vega. But yet many are keeping their thoughts to themselves about how GeForce GTX 980 Ti pulled its stunt against the allegedly more powerful AMD Fury X.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is reportedly going to be released via NVIDIA's new loyalty program i.e. Club GeForce Elite. Club GeForce will be the expansion of the $8/month program called GeForce Now, which is available only on NVIDIA Shield consoles.
Jen-Hsun Huang has already released a official statement on what to expect from the presentation of NVIDIA during CES 2017. According to the company's website, NVIDIA will be unveiling the various technologies such as self-driving cars, artificial intelligence and gaming.
CES (Consumers Electronics Show) is an annual event contributed by tech firms from around the world with an estimated 165,000 people for this year's event. The event is going to take place in Las Vegas starting 5 January 2017.
