Asus unveiled its new flagship device Zenfone AR at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 is Las Vegas. This newly introduced device is a high-end handset that supports both Google Tango and Daydream VR.
Zenfone AR, the newly developed device from Asus, is the second smartphone after Lenovo Phab 2 Pro in the tech market enabled with Google Tango computing platform which allows for indoor mapping, and augmented reality.
According to The Inquirer, Asus Zenfone AR Smartphone comes packed with TriCam system consisting of three rear cameras sensors with different functionalities like motion tracking, depth sensing, and high-resolution 23MP camera - that enables the phone to a create a 3D model of its surroundings and track its motion.
It is reported that Asus chairman Jonney Shih unveiled this product at the Consumer Electronics Show, Las Vegas. The newly launched device is a 5.7-inch smartphone and it is reported to hit the tech market in the second quarter of this year.
Shih states "We are excited to be the first to enable Tango and Daydream." He also added, "the new phone enables interaction with virtual object and offers the ability to watch a movie or play a game in virtual or augmented reality."
It is also reported that Asus claims that the Project Tango uses depth sensing and motion tracking to create onscreen 3D experiences. This allows users to get a better picture of a physical environment for functions such as home decoration.
Asus ZenFone AR is a 5.7 inch WQHD Super AMOLED display screen smartphone. The device screen holds a resolution of 2560x1440. Under the hood, it is incorporated with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor that's been optimized for Google's Tango, coupled with a massive 8GB RAM, and Adreno 530 GPU.
Presently, there are no reports suggesting the price tag of this newly launched smartphone from Asus. Stay tuned for more updates.
