These Feng Shui 2017 tips for the home will help keep you calm and relaxed after a long day at work. Whether or not you believe in the Chinese calendar or Zodiac signs, the colors and placement of furniture in your home can affect your mood. Here are tips from Feng Shui experts to help make your home a better one this 2017.
Feng Shui expert, Jodi Brunner, said that Feng Shui is about using and attracting positive energy from your environment. This is how the setting of your home can affect a person's personality or mood. According to The Japan Times, the Fire Rooster represents loyalty and punctuality.
Don't renovate in the west side of your house
The rooster's position is in the west, so homeowners should not renovate or dig anywhere in the western part of their home. Disturbing the west area could dispel the rooster's good luck for this year. If your neighbor is doing some renovation in the western area, this could affect you as well.
Avoid the color red in your furniture, accessories, or clothing
According to Sun Signs, this year also bears the fire element and the Yin part of the balance. Homeowners should specifically avoid having red furniture or accessories in rooms located in the northwest. This could bring sickness or other forms of bad luck. One way to counteract the effect is to use metallic colors.
Front door and bedroom in the south brings bad luck, but the north areas bring fortune
If your front door or bedroom is located in the south side of your home, then you will likely experience some misfortune. To counteract this, use the color yellow on your walls or furniture. You can also install metallic devices in the room. Don't use pink, red, or purple colors. Also, don't buy anything that is triangular in shape.
Brunner also said that if you want to succeed in your studies, do it in northeast of the house. You will find more productive energy there. The northern area of the house is the best place to cultivate a career or project, as this will herald fortune. Use subtle colors like white or grey.
Brunner further said that Feng Shui is not about accumulating possessions or money. She said it's about learning to live and be happy with less. She encourages everyone to recycle and reuse things instead of constantly buying new ones this year.
