The Division's third and hopefully not the last DLC "The Last Stand" have been officially announced. The new DLC will bring session-based PvP (player versus player) gameplay, but with a mixed PvE (player versus environment) feature.
In a report by Forbes, Massive hosted a livestream session with Red Storm in order to lay out what is exactly coming in the third DLC. The stream mainly focused on both the expansion of the Dark Zone (DZ) and the central activity in the "Last Stand" DLC.
With the "Last Stand" DLC 1.6 patch, the game is now getting "Dark Zone North" a new three-piece section of the map that is now doubled in size. Red Storm confirms that between rooftops, building interiors and underground areas, the Dark Zone is now almost twice as huge as it was previously. The livestream also showed areas with peaks of dead bodies and more new graffiti.
GameSpot also reports that Ubisoft's update 1.6 will not be on time limit exclusive on the Xbox One and PC like the "Underground" and "Survival" DLC were. There are however, more details to come for the update 1.6 in the coming days so stay tuned.
Here are the other "Last Stand" gameplay features that Ubisoft has announced, such as: More freedom for players to explore interior areas in the new Dark Zone North, like rooftops and underground areas; New Dark Zone areas, namely DZ 7, 8, and 9; Ability to move from DZ 6 to 7, since it is "one contiguous space", according to Ubisoft; PvP and PvE elements; Player capacity still remains the same even after the expansion of the Dark Zone; Fast Travel is now available between DZ checkpoints; "Last Stand" mode is 8 versus 8 (8v8) and now supports matchmaking; And lastly, new "Incursion" with the "Last Stand" DLC, yet more information is still to come.
A release date for the "Last Stand" DLC has not been announced but it will be out on the same day for all gaming platforms. Meanwhile, check this short teaser trailer for the "Last Stand" DLC below.
