Donald Trump and Tom Ford feud heats up yet again. Recently, the President of the United States spoke about his opinion of the designer. Trump was speaking during the Leadership Luncheon organized at Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.
When someone asked him about Tom Ford, the billionaire businessman said that he never asked the designer to dress his wife. Rather Trump said that he never liked him or his designs. He was reacting to the comment made by Ford that he was not dressing Melania Trump, Los Angeles Times reported.
Trump said that rather Ford never had anything that could dress up something like that (referring to Melanie Trump standing at the other end in the same room). Almost two months ago in the November issue of "The View" Ford was asked whether he would like to dress Mrs. Trump.
Ford who was promoting his movie "Nocturnal Animals" at the time said that although he was asked to dress her a few years ago to dress Melanie, he declined. According to Ford, Mrs. Trump is not necessarily his image. He stated he would have reacted in the same way even if Hillary Clinton had won the elections.
According to the 55-year-old film director, Hillary too should not be wearing his clothes as they are highly expensive. He explained that although they are not artificially expensive, the material that goes into their making makes it costlier. According to the American film producer, the wife of Donald Trump will have to relate to everyone being the First Lady and hence his clothes are not for her.
However, it seems that the candid refusal of Tom Ford has affected the market of his fashion label. According to Yahoo! Style, Steve Wynn's Las Vegas hotel has removed the Ford line of sunglasses and cosmetics from the stores during the weekend. Although the spokesman, Michael Weaver confirmed the action he refused to divulge the reason for it.
Wynn has been a big supporter of Donald Trump and it is but natural that a statement damaging him or his wife would not go well with the Las Vegas businessman. But this small feud is proving immensely expensive for Tom Ford.
