After its shocking midseason finale, "How to Get Away with Murder" returned to ABC on January 26 to pick up the story from Wes' death. As Annalise languishes in jail, viewers are left to puzzle out what actually happened at the night of the fire.
According to a recap by Variety, episode 10 entitled "We're Bad People" showed Frank running into Wes at the police station and asking him to get in his car. This was the first meeting between the two since the murder of Wes' father and he had a lot of questions for Annalise's former right hand man.
The episode also shed light on who the baby's father was and it turned out to be Wes, after all. It was interesting that after Frank visited Laurel at the hospital and Laurel raved at him that it should have been him who died in the fire, Frank proceeded to turn himself in to the police. It remains uncertain as to whether he was actually telling the truth or if he was only trying to save Annalise.
Meanwhile Bonnie's plan to set bail for Annalise to get her out of jail suffered a setback. But the surprise of the night came with the declaration of the medical examiner's office that Wes died due to smoke inhalation, contrary to what Nate was told that Wes was already dead before the fire. This set Nate off on a mission to find out the truth.
In an interview with Executive Producer Pete Nowalk on Entertainment Weekly, he said they will keep the viewers guessing for quite a while before the true killer is revealed. However, fans of the show will get to know what Frank and Wes talked about as soon as the next episode.
Nowalk assured that the wait will be worth it because fans will get the full picture by the end of the season. He said that they are currently shooting the finale now but when they were shooting the second half of Season 3, he was still changing his mind about who the killer would be.
Episode 11, entitled "Not Everything's About Annalise" airs February 2 on ABC.
