"The X-Files" Season 11 hasn't been given the go-signal yet, but the head honchos at Fox Entertainment want more another season with more episodes for 2018. Fans are excited to know whether they can see Mulder and Scully again on TV.
Fox might officially announce "The X-Files" Season 11 soon
"The X-Files" was released on air again in 2016 after 14 years. It was revived last year under Fox Entertainment with only six episodes. Series creator Chris Carter helmed the revival with original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson who reprised their roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully.
Now, after the revival, there might be a sequel, "The X-Files" Season 11, next year. David Madden, president of Fox Entertainment, said that they could be releasing an official announcement soon, reports E! News. During the 2017 Television Critics Association winter tour, Madden said that a continuation to the revival was very possible, considering the high viewer ratings for the 2016 "The X-Files" Season 10.
Show will have longer episodes in Season 11
Madden said it won't run for 22 episodes, but he promises something longer than six. Carter, the show's creator, said that the main problem was the schedule of the main cast. They were planning to get things ready by 2018, so long as they could move around Duchovny and Anderson's schedules.
Wired reports that Carter was always confident that the mystery sci-fi show would have a longer revival run. When Season 10 was still airing, Carter said that the high viewer ratings would make "The X-Files" Season 11 extremely possible. He also hinted that a Season 12 and more could follow in the wake of its revival success. In fact, it was one of Fox's biggest hits last year. The series had started in 1993, but interest waned in the later seasons when Mulder and Scully were replaced.
