Fifth Harmony Replaced By Courtney Daniels In NHL All-Star Game Performance

Fifth Harmony, who were scheduled for an important performance at the NHL All-Star Game, was a no-show and cancelled just cancelled minutes before their number was up. Fortunately, Courtney Daniels stepped up and performed in the girl group's stead.

Fifth Harmony was supposed to perform the National Anthem for the NHL All-Star Game last Saturday but had to mysteriously back out. Apparently, it was later revealed that the cause of the cancellation is a medical emergency of one of the girls.

The sudden cancellation perplexed fans as Fifth Harmony already posted in their official Twitter account the message "Happy #NHLAllStar day!!!" two hours before their scheduled performance. Minutes before their number was up, the group was said to be prepping for singing the National Anthem, reports TMZ.

However, it was reported that Dinah suddenly fell ill before the Fifth Harmony could perform. In fact, the paramedics had to be called in and the singer had to be placed in a stretcher.

Upon evaluation, it was that decided not to bring Dinah to a hospital. She left the venue along with the Fifth Harmony members, cancelling their engagement at the NHL All-Star Game. At the moment, no word has been released on what medical condition caused the cancellation.

Fortunately, Courtney Daniels saved the day, performing the National Anthem in Fifth Harmony's stead. Daniels is a Long Angeles King Ice Crew member tasked to shovel away ice during time outs.

Courtney expressed surprise at receiving a call out of the blue asking her to replace the Fifth Harmony and perform the National Anthem, reports Yahoo. It was a surreal moment for her but recalls that she calmed herself down after hearing "Call Me Maybe" singer Carly Rae Jepsen belt out "O Canada" before her turn.

It probably helped that it was not Courtney Daniels' first time singing before a packed arena, it was her third. She sang "O Canada" once at a Los Angeles Kings game and, just last week, also performed during an AHL Ontario Reign game.
