"Mortal Kombat X" will not be released at the EVO this year. Rather the sequel of "Injustice" will be replacing it in the list. Unfortunately for the lovers of the battle game, NetherRealm has decided to give more preference to "Injustice 2" which is distressing as well as surprising to both the fans and game analysts.
With game lovers just vying for "Mortal Kombat X" latest installment to release, the decision of the game developer is very much questionable. It is by far one of the most popular games in the fighting genre. And it has been part of almost all the competition.
The EVO 2017 list revealed by Mike Ross and the founder Joey "MrWizard" Cuellar although does not list "Mortal Kombat X," it instead includes another popular fighter game, "Street Fighter V," reports iTechpost. Other games to make the Evolution Championship Series of 2017 list include "Super Smash Bros.", "Injustice 2," BlazeBlue: Central Fiction," and few others.
It is disappointing for the "Mortal Kombat X" fans that NetherRealm preferred "Injustice 2" over the first game. But it also proves that at present the studio is not much interested in expanding the MKX franchise within the fandom. The game developer is also not known to providing post-release support to its games.
So fans cannot expect any other update or patch for "Mortal Kombat" in the days to come. However, there is still hope and fans can expect their favorite game to be included in the official lineup of EVO 2017. There is a place for the ninth game in the list which will be included as a part of the charity donation drive. "Mortal Kombat XL" is one of the games in this list.
According to SegmentNext, the game that receives maximum donations by the end of February 8 will be included in the lineup. So fans can still hope for their favorite "Mortal Kombat X" game to find a place in the upcoming EVO 2017 list.
