Nintendo Switch is scheduled to be officially launched in March 2017. However, it now seems that the users will have to face a shortage of the console much before its release just like what happened at the time of Nintendo NES Classic Edition's release.
According to a report published by The Express, the company would not be sending a huge number of units to the supply retailers to fulfill Nintendo Switch pre-order. As a result, the retailers may end up allowing pre-orders, but only until a specific number of devices are booked. Early estimates suggest that the supply retailers may only allow booking for 20 to 30 Switch units.
Even popular US games retailer Gamestop will be supplied with just 30 Nintendo Switch units, which is much less compared to the number of gamers who have been waiting so long to pre-order the console. This further indicates the point that the company may once again end up dealing with a crisis situation, just like what happened with Nintendo NES Classic Edition.
In fact, there are a few retailers who have not heard anything from Nintendo as yet. Therefore, it is not yet clear whether gamers who had pre-ordered the console would actually receive it before its official release in March 2017 or not.
According to iDigitalTimes the demand for Nintendo Switch is huge and is much more than what the Japanese company has anticipated. This is evident from the fact that the console is already sold out in Japan and the unsuccessful fans are expected to be notified about the restock update in the future.
Nintendo launch NES Classic Edition back in the last quarter of 2016. The console turned out to be quite popular among gamers and all the units manufactured by the company were sold out within days. The company failed to fulfill the demand and many users who pre-ordered the console still have not received it from the end of the company.
