OnePlus 5 is one of the most anticipated phones of 2017. While it was previously reported that the flagship killer may be release at the end of the second quarter, it is now rumored that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer may now decide to officially launch the phone as early as April.
The Tech tabloid PC Advisor recently reported that the OnePlus fans can expect OnePlus 5 to hit the marketshelves in May/June 2017. However, several reports published since then claim that the company may actually be planning an April launch.
OnePlus 5 is actually OnePlus 4. The company may decide to do away with number "4" because it is not considered as a good number in the Chinese tradition. This is the reason why another popular and new Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, decided to skip the release of Vivo V4, and directly jumped to Vivo V5 after the release of Vivo V3.
For this reason, the next flagship may be named OnePlus 5 instead of OnePlus 4. The phone is expected to possess a 5.5-inch screen and run on Snapdragon 835 that supports 8GB RAM, instead of initially anticipated 6GB. Snapdragon 835 is a Qualcomm processor which is expected to improve performance of efficiency of the device, in addition to an enhance battery life.
The price of the upcoming flagship killer has not been announced yet. However, website IPhone8 claims that the OnePlus 5 could be kept a little above $480.
OnePlus 5 is also expected to feature AMOLED display with Quad-HD screen. It is rumored that the company plans to include all the features that supports mobile virtual reality (VR). However, this piece of information stands as a rumor till date as the company has not confirmed any of these speculations officially.
Meanwhile, one of the most exciting feature of the upcoming OnePlus 5 is the wuality of its camera. It is rumored that it may flaunt a 13Mp front camera and a 21- to 23Mp rear camera. In addition, 3,500- to 4,000mAh battery with Dash Charge is another feature that people are excited about.
