OnePlus 4 is one of the most anticipated phones of 2017. New reports claim that the Chinese smartphone maker will be releasing its new flagship in the second quarter.
According to PC Advisor, there is a reason why the company may have decided to release its next smartphone in May or June 2017. First, the company would not like to launch it before the launch of other smartphones from major competitors, including Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC 11 and LG G6. These phones are expected to be announced at MWC 2016 and are rumored to go on sale shortly after the announcement.
Second, all the previous OnePlus phones were released in April-June time frame. For example, OnePlus One launched in April 2014, OnePlus 2 in July 2015 and OnePlus 3 in July 2016. This is the reason why OnePlus fans can expect OnePlus 4 to be released around these months only.
As far as phone's specifications are concerned, OnePlus 4 is surely expected to be one of the strongest competitors for smartphones that are scheduled to be released in 2017. The flagship killer is expected to be based on Google's latest Android, 7.0 Nougat and come with Snapdragon 835 processor.
The phone support 8 GB RAM and 5.5-inch AMOLED display. However, it is not clear whether the Chinese manufacturer would like to switch to Quad-HD screen. But the company is expected to include all the features required for mobile virtual reality (VR).
OnePlus 4 is also expected to possess a 3,500- to 4,000mAh battery with Dash Charge and a highly powerful 23 or 21 megapixel rear camera. The phone will rum on a customized version of Android 7.0 Nougat named Oxygen OS, according to Beta News.
Meanwhile, it is rumored that OnePlus 4 may actually be renamed to OnePlus 5 instead. This is because 4 is not considered to be a lucky number in the Chinese tradition. This is the primary reason why Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo also skipped the release of Vivo V4, and switched to Vivo V5 after the launch of Vivo V3.
