Showrunner Kerry Ehrin explained that when they begin to tackle the events of film's storyline, they want to take a unique approach yet maintain elements that will still make it recognizable for fans of the franchise. Their choice for role of Marion Crane, as well as their approach to her story is expected to flesh out her character, something that the limited screen time in the film was unable to do, Screenrant reported.
