The NES Classic Edition, like most, comes with its own set of setbacks and flaws. It can get quite tedious to game through when these barriers manage to disrupt your gaming experience.
A new report published by Digital Trends suggests that an implementation of a button combination shortcut will successfully remove one of the NES Classic Edition's "most tedious" flaws. The same report goes on to point out how difficult it gets for most gamers to re-create the authentic 8-bit experiences. However, that surely is made easy due to this given hack.
Now, instead of facing a situation wherein your NES Classic Edition console boots to the home screen, you can directly hop onto any other game that users wish to play. The new mod and your personal solution to this problem is an app called Hakchi2 that gives the NES Classic Edition the power to return to the home screen by simply pressing the down and select buttons.
Polygon reported that a GitHub user named ClusterM recently uploaded a new version of the app that made this possible. Moreover, the mod is customizable. Therefore, it becomes easy for users to change the shortcut as per the user's preference. It's interesting to observe how this shortcut comes only merely a few weeks after the hackers opened the floodgates.
This allowed the hackers to expand their library from the limited 30 to a whopping 84. There are numerous methods that gamers can resort to and hack the console. However, the Hakchi2 seems to be most user-friendly one.
How to mod NES Classic Edition to support the app
Users simply need to connect their console to a PC via the included USB cable. Users can easily transfer the downloaded app to your console. There are numerous tutorials available on the web that users can check out for some guidance.
