'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers: Kai, Elena Return For Final Season

A familiar face is set to return in one of the upcoming episodes "The Vampire Diaries" and fans of the show should expect his return to stir up a lot of drama. Kai, the siphoner believed to be dead and gone as far back as season 6 is expected to rise from the dead in the episode entitled "The Lies Are Going to Catch Up With You." 

Based on the promotional photos posted by PopSugar, Kai was wearing the black suit in which he was buried in so probability is high that he has managed to sneak out of Hell when Matt rang the Maxwell Bell.

While Kai was portrayed as one of the worst and most dangerous villains to grace Mystic Falls, fan theories are rife that the villain may have turned over a new leaf given the theme of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 of repentance and forgiveness. The report said that Kai may have had a change of heart after he experienced Hell firsthand.

Fans are also speculating that the show would pick up on a potential romance with Bonnie because the two characters always had great chemistry despite the fact that they always played for different teams.

Meanwhile, actress Nina Dobrev did not fail the fans when it was confirmed that she will be appearing in the back half episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

For a few months, scheduling conflicts and other issues plagued negotiations for her return to show which she left in the finale of Season 6.

After her last taping day, Dobrev posted an emotional message for her "The Vampire Diaries" family on Instagram. The photo of the set of keys that were gifted to the cast for the show's farewell season, The Sun reported.

"It feels like the beautiful closure we all needed, myself included, and I couldn't have been happier to come home to be with my TVD set family and friends," she said of the show's swan song.

The actress also posted photos of herself with long time co-star Paul Wesley who plays Stefan in the "The Vampire Diaries" series as well as ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed, allaying rumors of conflict between the two women.
